Stage building inspections

Building a new home or renovating your existing one is an exciting time. However, it can sometimes be long and complicated. That’s why we offer staged building inspections to ensure that every stage of your project meets the necessary standards and regulations.

We tailor our staged building inspections to your specific project. We'll conduct inspections throughout the construction process, including the foundation, framing, plumbing, electrical, and final stages. After each review, we will give you a complete summary of our findings.

STAGE 1

Inspection of the footings and slab

Your home’s foundation is one of the most important parts of your home. If your foundation isn’t right, it can lead to compounding defects with the rest of your build.

Throughout a Stage 1 inspection, our team will inspect your footings and overall slab dimensions. Our inspectors can also flag any potential drainage issues, which can later affect movement through the foundation.
STAGE 2

Inspection of roof and wall frames

Our Stage 2 framing inspection will help ensure that the framework is constructed in accordance with the approved specifications.
STAGE 3

Inspection of roof covering and external cladding

Ensuring that your roof is well-constructed will ensure protection for your home and your family. It will also minimise any long-term problems that may present.
Check that brick ties are installed
Check damp course installation
Check that brick ties are in the right locations
Check weep holes for effective drainage
Check all articulations
STAGE 4

Inspection of wet area waterproofing

Waterproofing is an essential step in any construction process. Proper water proofing installation will ensure the longevity of your new home, and will also help to reduce the possibility of damage to your build.

Our waterproofing inspection process will ensure that your waterproofing membranes are placed properly in all wet areas (bathrooms, laundries and showers), helping to prevent future damage and dampness from developing over time.

During the inspection process, we will:
Examine all wet areas
Ensure that waterproofing membranes are in place
STAGE 5

Practical completion inspection

This is the building process stage, where the builder has completed all the construction and is only working on minor details. Our inspectors will usually complete this type of inspection around two weeks before handover, which allows the builder time to rectify any issues that may be identified.

While all new-build inspection stages are important, a practical completion inspection will focus on the final product. This is often the last opportunity homeowners have to ensure that the builder completes works to their satisfaction. Our inspection team will be able to inspect and report on the finished standard of your new home or extension.
